All Things Ablur

by Mitch on 5/04/2005

Today I have a late start and I figured I would do some writing. I’ve been doing a little writing lately, but nothing that I really want to share with anyone. I’ve also had a lot of life developments (mostly in the form of 22-year-old finding himself realm) lately and a few things have started happening just the way I wanted them to.

First off, the deviantART Summit draws ever closer and I have outlined a strict budget so that I can go to it. In fact, my budget is so strict that if I stick to it and put away a little extra, I may be able to buy a new camera before I leave and have some nice photos to show for it. The Summit presents a lot of opportunities; my first time off Australian soil, a chance to meet some of the other administrators from deviantART and a chance to meet some of my other friends I have made on this community. I would also like to meet any other US friends I have who can make it to LA during this period, so if you are a reader and you can make it, let me know and I’ll see if I can get you a ticket to the summit.

Secondly, work is going really well. At the beginning of last week I had a one-on-one meeting with my boss over coffee, where he fed my ego a little (you know I like it) and basically told me that I am doing a good job and I will be getting more work soon. Basically if I can book more work, this will make my chances of making it to the Summit go from very-likely to absolutely and I like the sound of that. Also, it would be nice to put away some extra savings for a new camera and/or a new Macintosh laptop.

Josh got back from America last night and we had a nice family dinner with his girlfriends family and our own. It was nice, even though I ate too much and felt quite sick, and it’s even nicer to have Josh back in the country. I really missed him while he was gone. He was kind enough to buy me a brand spankin’ new pair of Converse Allstars while he was over there, along with a nice chain, a shirt and some cool candy (all pictured below) – how cool is my brother?! Rawk! m/

Lastly, the photoblogging has been going like crazy, but I’ve just had no time to upload them. Look forward to my flickr account exploding soon and enjoy the photos that make up my life. I will be trying to post some more over this week, so keep on checkin’!
